Below are some basic examples of my past artworks in both the Traditional and Digital Media.  Some of these are older than I wish to admit, but they still convey a point.  Please remember that artists do mature over time, so what you see may be a point or two lower than my current calibur.  Please click on the thumbnails to see the full image.  The Traditional section is listed in chronological order from newest to oldest.  The Digital section is listed according to programs and techniques used.

Happy viewing!

This is the sketch of Vaeryn, a request from my employer.  She is an example of a sketch with a background.  However, it isn't very detailed, so I wouldn't charge the full price of a "detailed" background.

Vaeryn is (c) Dora
I drew Terry, a character from the comic "Blackpaw", as an art trade between me and his creator.  He later on became my first lineless colored image.  This would be considered a basic sketch commission.

This is Kit, a gift I drew for a long time friend.  This is also an example where I might add some light-shading to the sketched images.

Nyu here is an excellent example of the closest I have to a "detailed background".  I would probably go a little more indepth for a commission, and this was only a gift for my long time friend.

Nyu is (c) Lydia
This is an older pencil, but I still like it.  I love the movement, and how the background reinforces that statement.  This was a gift image to my boyfriend, and you can see the finished version below in the digital art section.

Joshua Prowell is (c) John
This is a marker rendition (before adding in the background) of two of my characters:  Fantasy Forever-Prowell and her adoptive daughter Ssang.  I used Tria Color Markers and Faber-Castel Artists Pens.
Another marker rendition, this time Spot-The-Goldfish takes the spotlight.  She's a character of mine based off of a real goldfish.  Done with Faber-Castel Artists Pens only.  (No Tria)  Inked with Sakura Micron pens, and the background is done in both layered colored pencils and markers.
This is the finished version of the Vaeryn sketch.  The background is done in Faber-Castel Artists Pens, and the foreground is done entirely of burnished colored pencils.  You can see the full effects of the soft, elegent coloring effects that burnishing brings.

Vaeryn is (c) Dora
Here is another burnished colored pencils image, though much older.  I did this nearly a year ago, for my college entrance portfolio.  It is another image of my two aforementioned characters.  Even here in my earlier years, you can see the effects of burnishing- especially in the dress's skirt folds.
This bubble is ment only as an example as to what layered colored pencils looks like.  As you can see, a thin layer of each color was layed over the other, to give the overall soft feel.  You can also see that it does not fill all of the white- perhaps adding to te softness.
Watercolors is a medium I do NOT have listed under the Price Table, but I am available for watercolor renderings if that is what you wish.  I had an example image laying around, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to put it up.  To view mor examples and get pricing info on watercolors, please contact me.

This is an example of a basic Open Canvas sketch.  The sketch lines can be in any color(s), and also refined.  I can go into greater detail, and also add a background for the price listed.
Sari, a quick gift to another writer, is an excellent example of an Open Canvas sketch with slight coloring.  I used hatching and some cross hatching, just to ass a small splash of color.  I generally do not charge for the extra light color, unless the image is over large or complicated.

This is another Open Canvas sketch, but it showcases the soft watercolor light coloring I love to do in this program.  I can add this type of coloring to a sketch as well, but for a small fee for the extra time and work.  (Probable a dollar or two)
OraLee here was completely done in Open Canvas.  Her coloring is more of the light, sketchy kind I do with hatching and crosshatching; creating a nice effect.  This background is an example of a plain background- therefor no charge.  I do different colored backgrounds easily in Paintshop Pro, so I only charge for backgrounds if there's actual drawing involved.

This was a quick lineup image for one of my characters, done in Open Canvas with the cell-shading style.   I am not too fond of this style of coloring, but I will do it if requested.
A charactiture drawn of myself in Open Canvas.  This is just to show my inking and another form of coloring I perform.
The lines have been removed from the previous image, to show the great detail put into the coloring.
This image was colored- NOT DRAWN- by I.  The artist is Ashril ((http://ashril.deviantart.com)), and this was my submission into her coloring contest.  This was done within Open Canvas as well, and won runner-up to first place.

This is just a small portion of a larger lineless image drawn in Open Canvas, to show how detailed and painterly the effect is.  See the full version with background below.
The finished version of above, Marrise was done in Open Canvas with my lineless technique, taking days to accomplish.  I put the upmost detail into each part of her, and the background was formulated from Paintshop Pro.
The finished version of the sketch in the Traditional Art section, Terry was my first lineless subject within Open Canvas.  Each strand of hair was drawn individually, showing the great detai this image posesses.  Background and words done in Paintshop Pro.
Terry (c) Neko
Another finished sketch, this is the final version of Joshua done completely in Paintshop Pro.  As you can see, I combine the soft effects of airbrushing with slight smudging, to create the soft effect.  The background and effects were fun to render as well.
Joshua Prowell (c) John
The Gallant Kits, a request from a friend, is another example of my renderings with Paintshop Pro.  The image itself is almost two years old, but I am still fond of the background ad effects rendered.

Gallant Kits are (c) Rein Sharper
Nani, another old Paintshop Pro image, showcases another part of my coloring methods.  Even after all this time, I still love the way her coloring (especially the kimono) came out.
One benefit of Paintshop Pro over Open Canvas is that you can use colored lines for your inking.  For some, the colored outlines can be quite pleasing to the eye, softening the image a tad.  Here is a wallpaper I made of my character, showing the colored lines and also my older coloring methods with PSP.
Finally, we see the only image I have ever drawn lineless in Paintshop Pro.  Lineless coloring in PSP is more difficult than within Open Canvas, because it lacks the mimicry of the painting arts.  I will, however, do lineless coloring in Paintshop Pro if asked.
